Wassup guys,

I was riding last week and noticed a squeal coming from the right rear of my ridgeback.I could hear it over my pipes and the wind even at 70-80mph.I looked back at my rear tire and it looked like it was wobbling  so I let go of the bars to see if it was tracking straight and all was good so I rode on.Stoped to get gas and I pushed it around a lil in neautral and it seems to be coming from the belt.Kinda like its binding and it makes a squeal like rubber squealing.I gave the rear wheel a good shake but the bike was on the ground and I couldnt tell if it was loose or what? Possible bad wheel bearing?Flat spot on tire?Belt? I had to be back at work the next day and I havent had a chance to look at it, just would like to know what you all thought I should check first and try to avoid taking it to the shop.I guess I need to break down and get a manual.Bike has been trouble free for 6k miles, but the squeal is not normal.I did a quick visual inspection of all the bolts when I got home that evening, didnt see any missing  ..Thanks in advance for any help

HAHA I already tried the lead block idea and it was an epic failure:lol:

No, the bike wasnt wobbling and it tracked nice and straight when I let go of the bars.I just heard the squeal and looked back and just using the rear fender for reference the tire looked like it was wobbling.I know thats not the best way to judge if it really was or not, but it definatly looked like it was.Wont be able to tell for sure till I jack it up.May have been all in my head lol.But the squeal from the belt isnt normal..

Well you are going to have to get under there and see if the belt has the proper tension on it. Then you need to ensure the belt is square to the frame.
How many miles do you have on the bike now? Is the pulley worn out? Mine was replaced at 30 some thousand miles. The Teflon wore off. New on stopped the squealing I was experiencing.

As for wobble you wouldn't have been able to take your hands of the bars if it was bad.

Let us know what you find.

yeah sounds like the pulley to me too Ray. Also if you're looking back at the rear wheel riding along I guess you're only going to see the tyre rather than the wheel itself which could be misleading.
