Rear rim change

Has anyone change or is it possible to change from a 20inch rear rim to 18inch? Im finding it almost impossible to find a tire for my 2008 pit bull. I need help!

Your overall tire height will end up being 2" shorter it looks. A 280/40-18 is only 26.8" tall. So you'll have an inch more gap between tire and fender.

Split the difference from the axle.should only be an 1 inch. Might be able to make that up with a different ratio tire

I could live with the gap. Im more worried about mechanical issues when changing the set up.

Yes, They said there is order of 100 coming just no time frame... Just want to see if this is going to continue to be a issue is it better to change the set up and be done with it.

Since they are in business again, fingers crossed, probably not an issue in the immediate future.
As you well know a 280 is not a common tire.
If it were my ride I would be trying to come up with something more common.
Unfortunately I haven't done any work in that area so I don't have a solution to offer.

I'm thinking he needs to MOD the frame/tranny and go with a 360 haha
