Rear brake problem

What would cause the rear brake to apply but not release? Going to tear it down next week when I put new pads front and rear. Just curious if anyone else had this problem

brakes are pretty easy. master cyl., lines, caliper. when you apply rod pushes in and closes and opens different ports, which applies pressure to make the caliper pistons push out and apply braking, when you release the pressure goes away and brake relax. If your brakes are not releasing in most cases it is in the calipers, If you remove you should be able to push back without to must effort. If you want to call I can give you more info. not to good of a typer. Bruce 717-382-9983 it in PA.

I have the same problem. I ordered front and rear caliper rebuild kits from Performance Machine for right around $40.00 shiped to my house.

I would probably do like tex and just rebuild your calipers. The pistons are freezing up. Could be as simple as a bad O-ring in one of them. Not much to it and probably cheap for the kit.
