Reading the plugs

How long do I need to let the bike run before I take the plugs out and read them? I just changed the pipes and am in the process of tuning the carb.

any signs you are looking for in the colour of the plugs should be there almost immediately I would say. I've stopped paying much attention to my plugs now - if its running right thats good enough for me - spark plugs can be misleading now (especially here in the UK) because of the chemicals in the fuel. Spark plug reading properly is also not that easy to do anyway.

And if you read the thread above, you have to read the plugs at different riding, not just idling.
