Ok so on my last custom I built I had a set of shot guns on her and when I let off the throttle it had a badass cackle to her. I LOVE that sound and want to get it back. I have the Big Radius V&H set up right now and LOVE the look better then the shot guns but miss the cackle. I know it will never have that sound with the long tubes of the shot guns but if I take out some of the baffle will this in turn give me more of that cackle or just make it to loud and have to much back preasure?

Thanks for all opinions up front!:2thumbs:

I am going to start by pulling out the baffles and see how big they are then see how it sounds and go from there.

Thanks I will keep the Thunder Mountain Baffles in mind.

Pull them and cut them in half. Many have done this and it will give the pipes a very nice throaty sound. I cut mine down to 4". Was very happy with them.

Cut mine down to about 4" as well and liked the sound but lost a lot of low-end power. Switched back to my mean mothers and still looking to find a set of Chaos II's

I ran mine with cut down baffles for years. Changed to the big city thunder and made a huge difference.

I wish I had more money.
Pull them out completely and take it for a spin. If you don't like it then start cutting it down. You may like it without all together. I've done a couple two or three sets now and all have ended up going without.

This is my first plan of attack as soon as we get some nice weather again!

Thanks!:2thumbs:

This is something that I want to do. I tried to get the baffels out of my big radius pipes and I could not get them to move. I did take out the one screw that holds them in the pipe. Anybody have a trick on how to get them out? Really want the bike to be louder!

I held mine in the vice while a used a bearing slide hammer setup to work them out about an half an inch at a time eventually they came out.

Scott's on it. Only thing I would add is to soak them down with some wd or pb blaster. Soak it real good let it set for a day or so without riding it and hit it with the slide hammer.

mine slid right out. cycle city cut mine down, tuned it on the dyno and made more power with the shortened baffle. sounds bad as hell! i just lost the unwanted popping on the "off throttle/down shift". they said you can make the most power with the big radius pipes. i set off car alarms daily! lol!
