I have a S&S 107 and it has a ticking sound when it gets warm - especially on hot days. I am going to try adjusting the pushrods first.
I have read:
http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/how/463-pushrod-adjustment-how-pics.html
and watched:
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6Q9GpWfXAw]YouTube - How To Adjust Pushrods On S&S 117‏[/ame]
so I feel comfortable doing this.
My question is that the thread and the video both state 3 turns (18 flats), but I have heard and read anything from 3 to 4 turns.
What is the reason / benefit to adding a 1/2 to full turn?
What are people using and have found to reduce the ticking sounds?
