Rewired my 04 in spring 08, ran great. Then last Fall bike would die after I started it up when I turned on the headlight, everytime. Opened the bucket, melted plug. Bought a ceramic one. no difference. No power to the coil from a wire plus module when turned on the lights.. Called wire plus sent new module, no questions. Bike still died when turn on headlight. Shit. Bike ran normal without the headlight on thought. Scratch hea.

Next thought had to be sporty ignition switch. Took off coil cover and there it was broken solder connection off the backo the switch. Resolder. POW. I'm back. That was my winter in my cold freakin garage. Gotta get a heater but...

LAUGHLIN IN TWO WEEKS!!! for my annual "BOY DO I NEED A ROAD TRIP" trip.

Well..... At least it wasn't a Wire-Plus module problem.

I seen this thread and thought... WHAT, this is a first!!!!

Glad to hear it was a simple fix.

I had one problem as well but it was really my fault. I noticed the positive cable was rubbing my seat and I thought about re routing it but never did anything about it. Well one day I'm out riding and pow the bike backfires and dies. I look under the seat and see the cable has broken clean off and the wire plus module is smoking like crazy. Well needless to say I was down for the count. I called wire plus and he sent me a new module no charge, and was back on the road. Don did tell me the newer modules had a better surge protection system and this shouldn't happen again.
