It looks like many of you are pretty good at wrenching on the big dogs and have a lot of knowledge about them. I've had my dog for over two years now (2005 Pitbull) and have not had any mechanical problems with it. I found this forum about 2 weeks ago, and have been reading many of the threads, especially the service type stuff. After reading all this stuff, you would think my bike would not even start being that i haven't adjusted anything, changed any rocker boxes, put new jets, etc....

I've been happy with way it's been running, i bought it used with 2500 miles on it, i've put on the rest, about 7600. Like i said, i've had no problems with it. I've been taking it to the same shop here since i bought it, they say everything looks good on it.

Can someone tell me if there are some things that are a must as far as performance and dependability?

Sorry for the long intro, but i'm new to all this information. And i wouldn't say that i'm the best mechanic on the block, but i will find a way to get the stuff done, even if it costs.

Thanks.

men for the most parts the bikes are okay its just everyone comes here for answers.. and yes there is a lot of questions. but any bike with 2000 cc in between your legs is going to have a few promblems specialy like ours the pitbull theres just so much power and viberation . things like your ehc module check it, i havent seen a 05 pittbull that the ehc hasnt viberated the studs off and it just rattles arounds thats 600 bucks. i took serval cable ties to mine. men they are awesome its just like drag bikes you run them one day and work on the 6 days. the dogs isnt no yama.

Cavazos, if your bike is running good. Leave it alone and put some miles on it!:D

In addition to the regular service. Nut and bolt check every 2500 miles. Loose bolts need loctited. I would also fill the ehc connectors with dielectric grease every 2500 miles.
