I appreciate the info thank youIf I had a quart of !5-40 (non-syn) laying around I wouldn’t hesitate to use it as primary oil til next oil change. Many use ATF. Primary oil is there to lube the primary chain—-the most important thing is that it’s not synthetic. Of course many riders also use HD or other primary lube too. The cost conscious (me included) go for the ATF-F type. Couple of hundred thousand miles on Big Dogs—no problems with using that oil.
My take on any gasket I use.looks like i have a little leak coming from the trap door . i ordered a new gasket ,when i put it on should i use a gasket sealer ,or should i not

How true is this statement? I have been battling a leaking primary every year. This year I'm trying the Cometic primary gasket #STDY8998. This one has the thin metal with pre-spray-on gasket material. Assembling in a few minutes and if this is true, I'll only pour in 20oz.If you haven't put it in yet, don't put in the whole quart! Just put in 20 oz., it was decideded that 32 oz causes too much pressure in the primary and pushes it through the seals. If you have, draw it back down with a turkey baster.
