Ok, I've searched without luck. The owners manual states 32 oz of fluid in the primary but somewhere I saw that fluid should cover up to a certain point on the clutch assembly. How far up should it be? Thanks

just pour 1qt in there and you're good to go. Some like to put a little less than that in - overfilling can cause too much drag and sticking clutch plates.

I have an o4 with LSD and it takes 32 oz. My riding buddy has an 05 RSD and his manual specifies 1.5 quarts.

there was a misprint in the 05 owners to service manuals.

put in enough so the ring gear slings it

on many 2006 they had the 1.5 qrt misprint right on the outer primary.

You can see at the bottom of the window

28oz is just right (LSD 2004 softail) i have been trying to fix a leak at the lowest bolt next to the drain, so i've drained it, and replaced it 4 times this week. 28oz puts the level right were is should be each time.

Good info. I think I'm running too much oil in the primary and causing it to drag. I'll adjust this weekend.
