Pre-'04 Harley wiring or Post-'04 Wires plus - which is better?

I've noticed several BDMs for sale (even '07s on up) that mention an upgrade to Wires plus. My understanding is that starting in '07 the bugs were pretty much all worked out of the BDM wiring.
Converting all the wiring sounds like an expensive endeavor, has anyone done this and is this something DIY-able for most?

A lot of us made the change for the wrong reasons. They don't make the original ehc anymore so some of us went to aftermarket parts.

RIP, D O C esc, and Axel make replacements. Quit worrying and get a damn bike:) Winter will be here before you know it;)

I have a wires plus on my 04 ridgeback. Not a fan of it had to replace modules. You can dyi yourself need a tool for the pins. Much better systems on this site. Pd 1200 installed not a fan but it is what it is . Got questions hit me up
