Power cones

i've run 9 or so differant pipe set ups on my k-9. none for any length time with baffles. i've also run with and with cones. my prefferance is with cones. i like the over all feel though all the gears. with the new pipes i just built there is a solid pull though all gears with no drop off at top end.
cones are designed to increase back pressure just as baffels. of course they don't produce as much.

BIG AL, these are little more quite than the big pipe i had on there. LOL
Are the cones designed to increase back pressure or are they designed to prevent gases in the exhaust getting back through the open exhaust valve and contaminating the fresh fuel / air mixture? Or is this the same thing?

I'm going to put the bolt / washer set up in my pipes (Arlen Ness Smoothness) and I have some Samson AR cones coming from Nelson - has anyone used both together or have a view on how this would work?

the cones are designed for back pressure. if feel that i have gotten the best ALL-A-ROUND performance using them. they do nothing to quite open pipes down nor to stop the poping. that is baffles only. , I would NOT run them with baffles, just open pipes. my present set up is a short two-n-one that dumps before the rear axle . tons of power all the way up to 120.

Well you know I have the washer setup in my pipes. I have always heard (good or bad) that the cones are not for larger motors but I have no experience with them so will say no more.
I like the washer idea though cause you can tune it to whatever backpressure you need for your riding zone.
