I'm painting my bike black - thinking of powdercoating the rear fender struts black.

Anybody here done it?

My concers are I that I often take off / put on my sissybar and it's an easy area to scratch.

If you've done it I welcome any comments you have.

Thanks

I had mine powdered to match my tins. Get another coat of clear put on and that should prevent scratches and limit a scratch from showing if it does happen.

I had mine powdered black. If you go with black ask for mirror black. It is glossier and will match the paint better. So far no problem with the sissy bar.
Make sure the mask the holes for the bar.

hey lambo, get some feedback from some people that have had some work done where you're taking it. i had the sissybar that i fabbed done at a shop here in toledo and the coating started to flake off within a week. gonna have to have it stripped and redone at the end of the season.

There is a powder place near me. They do good work with reasonable turn around time.
I can post info if you are looking for a recommendation.

yeah post away if they do a good job, I'm gonna get it done over the winter so delivery time isn't an issue.

Ok I'll pass the info along. They do good work.
My brothers shop is right next door to them so I am by there a couple times a week.
I'll try to post info tomorrow as I don't even know my brothers shop address. Lol
I just call them powder Jim and Jeff.
They do lots of bike stuff from frames to spoke wheels.
I don't do this often but I can honestly say they are good people and coaters.
