Playing with the airbrush, idea for the Chopper

As some of you know I picked up an airbrush around Sept/Oct. last year to mess around with, never touched one before that. I didnt get a chance to use it much since the new year but decided to get back into it to get some practice in hopes of eventually repainting my 05 Chopper. Well I finally figured out the paint scheme that I want after looking at some other bikes, blue on black flames. So I took a sportster tank that I stretched over the winter that looks similar to the Big Dog tank and tried it out.

I just did a quick freehand tape job on the black flames, I'll do it a little different on the bike, but all in all it came out pretty good, definatelly has some promise. Heres a few pictures...

You've came a long way since last fall.wonder how those black flames would look fading into the realfire??

Thanks guys, I'm getting there. Still lots of room for improvement, but getting better each time. Its a fun little hobby, still not 100% happy but not being a professional, its not too bad. I've seen allot better out there but I've also seen worse. A buddy of mine is a professional painter and did allot of custom work for a local custom bike builder and can do some amazing work. He said it looks better than some professionals he has seen, and also said he would pinstripe it for me as I'm not even going to try that. But I kind of like the look without it being pinstriped, more subtle this way in my opinion, in low light in almost looks all black, which is cool, but in the sun it really pops.

I'm gonna try doing one of my helmets next and another tank, figure the more practice the better.
