Pipes for K-9

Need opinions on which pipes to put on my Dog. Considering Mean Mothers/slash tips or Big Radius 2 into 1, not looking for anything radical, just something that will improve performance and has a low rumble. Kinda always liked the D&D Fat Cats on AIH but never saw them on a Big Dog. Vance & Hines Big Shots look good but will they fit a K-9? I like the old style hot rod headers that run into one pipe and turns out on the end. Thanks for any and all info! SL

I have the mean mothers on my k9 and am happy with the sound.....IMO they have a lower rumble than the V&H big radius which are a little louder with more midrange.

Sorry, can't help much on the other types you named.

:zz2cents: I love the look and the sound... the 2 into 1's give you more of a rumble...

Most peeps seem to prefer the crisper 2 into 2, and they seem to be louder...

100% personal preference on looks and sound, but 2 into 1's should improve performance.
Don't go too short or too big in diameter... you need to keep some back pressure

I have the 2 into 2 V&H. Love the sound.....but all my harley buddies liked them too and have started putting them on there harleys. Now I gotta buy something different :D .

Check out my RBRacing LSR 2-1's (link in sig, that's my bike). Great performance and very high quality.

Some of the guys I ride put on Mean Mothers on... They are quite happy with...When I rode my friends K-9 it seemed a little less grunt in the mid range but I thought it may just be my imagination :confused: ...but Frank said that my bike had a little more mid than his ... I told him I have the K&N stuff and the rejetting might have changed things a bit...gives us something to talk about...:cheers:

IMHO I like the look of the Big Radius 2 / 2... those pipes just look right for a K-9...don't know if the 2 into 1 pipes are available for a K-9... Vance and Hines have great history and I have trusted their stuff on ALL my bikes...Creature of habit I guess... Rock on...:whoop: :choppersmiley: :2thumbs:

I HAVE MEANMOTHERS AN THEY ARE JUST THAT...DONE BROKE THE BRACKET TWICE ON THE BACK AN ONE HEAT SHIELD.MY NEXT WILL BE THE R&B LIKE BLACKDAWGS:flag:

I have mean mothers on my K-9. But, I think if I had to do it over again, I would just punch out the stock pipes. It may be because I'm old, but damn they are loud. And if I take a long trip, I have to put in my custom made ear plugs. Couldnt do it without them. But if you are set on getting some pipes, I do recommend the Mean Mothers. To me, they go along better with the design of the bike. But thats just me. I like the look of the stock pipes, but they are too long and cover up the bike too much.
