Pipes are on

Energy One

Picked up the bike yesterday after getting the pipes on. Looks good on there. They weren't what I was wanting (no thanks to Stainless Creations...) but they were the ones that were easily obtainable.

I had read about people asking about removing the baffles... I was afraid these weren't gonna be loud enough and would have to remove them or swap them out. But I also noticed that it was stated if they're removed, there would be a lot of decel pop and loss of performance. I can't say anything about the lack of performance as I noticed a huge seat-of-the-pants improvement from before... but I'm getting a lot of decel pop. I thought maybe they put the pipes on without the baffles, but I looking in I can see them. I can only imagine how bad the decel pop would be with them removed...

looks good. if it is carb'd, did they re-jet it? check to see if there are any leaks around the
the gaskets.

It is carb'd and they did install an intermediate jet.

Gaskets around where the pipes bolt to the motor? Hadn't noticed anything yet... will keep an eye on it still.

Looks like you have a thing for blue vehicles!
Lookin' good! My Mean Mothers have no baffles.. At first I couldn't stand the de-accel pop. Now I like it a lot... It sounds really beastly!
Try it for a week with no baffles and see what you think. :flag:

cold air getting into the pipes through a leak around the gaskets can cause more decel popping. just sayin'. if they are not leaking, might want to try the old washer in the pipes trick.

lol Blue is my favorite color... it really just kinda happened that way. I bought the truck when I got back from Japan and the dealer had limited bikes on hand, so it just worked out that way. But back when I had my '06 and went to get a bike... a big deciding factor was that it matched the truck. lol

I dunno... I think I'll give it a bit till these become "normal" and then see about going louder.

Was not aware that would cause it to do that... will look more into it.
