I am looking for a picture of the Bigdog rear fender struts for a Chopper. Needs to have the struts that work with a sissy bar(backrest)
Also wanting to know the length of the shift rods on all models.
NOT including the heim joint, just the aluminum rod.

I will be making these parts so any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance:cheers:

Here is a picture of a shift rod we made for an FLH.

05 Chopper shift rod with extended controls is 16 7/16". :D
Thought I had my stock shift rod but couldn't find it. Must have given it to someone else!

Does anyone know what the laws are , if any, with building parts for these bikes? If the rods had lettering on them such as "BDM" or the model like "Ridgeback", is this illegal because of TM laws?
Anyone know how to find this out? Thanks:cheers:

BDT01 -- three options to consider;

a) Talk with a lawyer (~300) to find the cost of a TM search and verification. A quick look shows there is a move to TM the term "Ridgeback" by some dog owners in Viet Nam.

b) Write a letter to the BDM Factory - explain what you want to do and ask for permission to use the terms and specify how they will be used. A possible sticking point is that there is a profit motive for the use. Patent problems are almost always driven by neither side talking in advance, then it becomes posturing of who has the bigger legal team.

c) Do it. With the exception of "BDM" all of the model names are also used in other businesses. this may be under the radar enough that no one will care -- in the end everyone may win.

Just some things to consider. There is no TM on the Maltese Cross and you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one of those in a catalog!

My 06 k-9's 16-3/8 w/extended controls, I have my 14" stock one, did you need it ??
No, don't need the stock one, but thank you anyways:up: I just need the lengths of all the models. I still have to get hold of the company ( BDM ) and see if I can talk with someone about making parts. I do see that in a BDM flier I have, all the model names have either a "TM" of a "R" next to them. SO this might mean that I will not be able to build parts that have these names:( Will see I guess.
Thanks for the info hollywoodjohnny:2thumbs:
