phantom pipes

well, it's official, i'm not that smart, anyway, quick question, I just took my 2007 K9 for a ride wearing nylon jogging suit pants, the pants burned onto the black part of my paul jaffe phantom pipes and now there are brown burned material marks. I was wondering if there was anyway to remove the marks... any help would be appreciated... thanks..(it seems the marks are actually the material from the pants)

Yeah, shit happens, try ez off oven cleaner... I'd do a small area first make sure it wouldn't effect the anodized surface.

I know on chrome you can use a very sharp brand new razor blade. Just hold the blade at a angle as to not gouge the finish, and lightly scrape. Try on the back side or a hidden area first to be sure this doesn't scrape the finish. I know on chrome it works like a champ. I remove melted shoe plastic all the time. And you were wearing what on your bike?????

1 bad k9...the marks are on the jet black part... Stick... i dont think the bike will heat up the surface enough on its own to melt it.. i was thinking maybe a propane torch to burn it but its gonna be tricky... unless i disassemble whole pipe and shield..

What I used and a plastic spoon not to scratch. Let it soak for a few and go to town with the spoon. If the spot is thick it might take a few times to break it down. My pipes came out looking like new couldn't even tell anything was there. My .02.

If its on the black part you are probably going to have to sand it off, then repaint that portion up under the heat shields with BBQ high-temp black rattle can paint. I think it will be hard to get it off without messing up the black paint.

I did the same on one of my bikes,the stainless part and the oven cleaner is the only thing that would work for me :up:
