Painting

How much would it cost to paint over a tank and rear finder on an '04 chopper? There's a bike I'm thinking of bidding on but it has some nasty paint on the tank and finder which I was thinking of getting painted to match the rest of the bike (black). Any thoughts?

Wide range in my opinion.

A guy with a can of spray paint will do it for a case of beer or you may have to give up your first born to a couple of the people on this site if they do your work.

You get what you pay for.

depends on what you are looking for. A one color base coat (say black) might run $500 an up. More colors, graphics, specialty paints (candies, pearls, kameleon etc.) can run it into the thousands ($2000 plus)

Deno's is one of the most reputed in the business - they do all the work for Bourget. They have the packing and shipping worked out as well. You get what you pay for - here be ready to pay some serious $$$'s but it is worth it in my opnion. If its in your budget then look no more. GOOD LUCK:up:

I bought a new K-9 last October....solid white, and I got mine done in FT. Lauderdale for arount 2 grand ....they did a GREAT job....took: 3 weeks.
If the bike is a good deal....do your own paint!!! Lots of luck!!

we have a bodyshop and i have did them anywhere from cost of materials to $3200,and this isnt even airbrushing wicked stuff on it...i do just graphics,have friends that do the wicked airbrushing

I just checked the price of the bike and it is too high for what I would get. Thanks for the advice though, I will now factor that into my budget for the next auction.
