Painting frame scrape on bottom of Bike???

Energy One
1" x 3" scrpae on bottom of frame from concrete steep driveway. Down to metal as far as I can tell

Figure just sand with 100-150 grit and use some touch up paint. Just trying to avoid rust in cali and cant see it since its on bottom of the frame.

Thoughts, suggestions.

I think your plan is solid, clean and paint.

I did the same thing bottoming out over a high curb onto my friends driveway in AZ while at AZ Bike Week...I hate it when that happens! :bang::angry:

My mishap broke the powdercoat off where it hit. As with yours, you can't see it...but it still bugs me that it's there.

I'm going to put it up on a lift this weekend and do the same as you...clean, touch-up and clear coat over the area affected.
It would cost too much to have a paint shop repair it, especially when you can't see it.
The main thing I think is to seal it up and avoid any corrosion starting there.

Same problem here, rust in Hawaii is a BIG problem but prepping and painting seems to be working just fine.

I nicked the powdercoat on my black frame and touched it up the enamel Testors model paint and a brush. Covered well and blended.

So took an hour last night lying on back in garage. Don't have a lift. Anyways, bought 150 grit, paint prep wipe and honda metallic blue touch up. Wiped are with wet rag, dryed, scuff sanded. Wiped with paint prep (wet nap with thinner), dryed and painted with touch up. Suprising how close color is to mettalic blue honda, funny. Anyhow, looks decent, my do second coat later, but have to ride to car show on sat so that's the priority. thanks for feedback and confirmation on my plan guys. Board is helpful as always.
