Just was cleaning the dog everything came out good besides oxidation marks in my fins. Does anyone know how to get them out ? And if anyone knows of a good polished aluminum sealer?

Adams polish, several cloth cobs-wheels of different styles and an air die grinder. If that doesn't remove the oxidation buy new jugs....jmo.

Semi chrome polish works well and leaves a protective coating. Make sure to use a clean part of the rag when the rag turns black. Eldow grease and good luck!!!

I had the same problem when I bought my 2006 K9. Use flitz with a paint stick. Go to Caswellplating.com. They have everything you need from polishes to buffing wheels. Just take your time it will look like new!!

I use paint and Popsicle sticks with Meguires, Mothers, and White Diamond. Dremel Tool with felt bob end gets the worse off. Once its clean only occasional touch up is necessary. Be careful with a dremel (Right speed and control is important).

Best stuff to clean the fins on the motor is Diamond Brite Truck Box Polish, I get at Lowe's in the tool area. Don't look in the clear area as recommended by the store personnel. This polish will make the fins look like chrome. I use it on the triple trees also. As you polish it will turn black but when you wipe off is some of the best looking and it protects great. I have been using it for about 2 years and it always makes the aluminum shine. Let me know if this works for you.

finally tonight i took some tongue depressors and mothers aluminum polish to the fins...brand new effin motor is what it looks like. I took the ignition cover off to expose the rest of the fins and bolted it back up after...i'm gonna be honest i've never seen my motor look so clean ever. For the last year I asked how to clean it and tried, but not with the effort i used tonight. My motor looks like its never been ran and i mean it. i will post a picture tomorrow...but seriously just listen to the folks here and you wont be steered wrong. I took the oxidation, water marks and brown stains right off with a little bit of effort. Try it and you wont be disappointed...

If it is severe damage I'd recommend you start with 2000-3000 grit wet sandpaper, it will look very dull, continue to sand until all oxidation is gone and the surface is even.....from this point nothing but elbow grease and a good polish, it will look like new when finished. Don't let the sandpaper use scare you, it will polish out.

I want to extend a special thanks to the genius that invented powder coating, I spray mine with some PIGSPIT and wipe with a rag on a paint stick and they look showroom new every time. ZERO POLISHING. OK I may be rubbing something in a little.
