Good Morning all,

I have a 2000 Husky with factory handle bars and was thinking I might be interested in putting apes but not sure how they will look since the bike kinda has that prostreet look? Does anyone have an older dog with apes and can send me some photos? My last bike I rode for 15 years had 13 inch apes on 3 inch risers, always loved that look.

Ape it.

This is my 03 with 18 inchers, hell yea ape it if you like em. i have had apes on everything from the 72 honda cb 350 (a few years back), 16 in on 91 bagger to 95 sporty with 16 's, go for it and post some pics.
i had to rewire from switches down. no biggie. peace.

What did you do about your cable lengths? How long did you end up haveing to go with?

drag specialties clutch 74", throttles 36", and brake line 48". i can get you the numbers later if you want, best way is to put bars on use some mechanics wire and run where you want them. then measure the length of wire.

Apes

:2thumbs: Yeah, i am happy with the whole set up. the only thing i tried to do when i was putting them together was to get a 90 degree AN fitting with a female #4 on one side and a male #4 on the other. this would make my brakeline come straight down the bars and look a bit cleaner. in turn i could have probably used a 42" brakeline.

Not for me but always loved the look. Im more of a long fork chopper fan. All these look great though. Good job on the customizing.

Love the long fork too, love em all, had a long forked chop, but ya get what you can find and afford. Plus this is a little easier to ride everyday.

Mine are just the thicker run of the mill 1 1/4" bars found in any motorcycle parts catalog. These bars were on the Road King I had before I sold it. The riser holes on my Wolf line up the same as a Harley, so any HD riser/handlebar config will work.

I have apes on both my bikes, and pretty much every bike I've owned. I'm a decent sized guy too, so my 20" apes aren't as high on me as they are some people. And for me, I've been a guitar player for 25+ years, and my wrists seem more accustomed to bend in that way, then with say drag bars.
