Oil Pump issues

I have a 02 pitbull with the 107. I have been doing some needed cleaning and maintence over the winter. My issue now is at the oil pump. I had a decent drip from the fitting on the bottom of the oil pump. When I went to pull the oil line from the bottom of the pump the fitting snapped at the base of the pump. What is the process for pulling the pump? I am sure I can fix the fitting. I have heard of horror stories about pulling these and not getting the gears together correct.

If it's the fitting in the picture just pull that oil pump cover off. Gears won't fall out there are snap rings holding them in place if I recall. Regardless gears are not a pain to put back in. The oil pump is about as simple of a unit as you can possibly get.

I think the only thing about pulling that cover off was I had to replace the gasket, but that's really cheap.

its the fitting on the bottom of the pump.
Should be 4 bolts holding that cover on....have at it :2thumbs:

If you need a new gasket the Harley shop should have one. Just ask for an S&S Oil Pump Rebuild Kit, It will have all the gaskets and its about $10

The whole pump needs to be removed to get to the fitting. It is the oil feed fitting that is located on the bottom of the pump. It is not located in the pic.

Ohhh - I was going to say that fitting didn't look busted!

Isn't the fitting on the bottom of the pump still attached to that cover?

Thanks for the exploded view. After cleaning the dirt and caked on oil this morning I noticed the same. I am glad all I need to do is pull the cover.
