oil puking help needed

So ive had my dog for a few weeks now and have noticed the oil mist that comes from the air filter. Ive read about it and i think its mostly an inconvenience. Just seems a little excessive. I have a teardrop filter and the cover is like a horizontal fins deal. Im thinking if i get the forward facing spike filter it will help. Seems like my current cover allows the wind to help blow the oil through the filter to the outside of the battery box and it eventually starts dripping to the trans and pipe and burns and smokes.i have to wipe it every stop. Any thoughts or other ideas?

Why not make your own puke can?

Inexpensive and efficient. I'll post up a picture in the morning. Not hard to make and it makes for funny conversation.

A friend suggested adding a small inline filter in the breather hose just behind the air cleaner. Any thoughts on that?

Put less oil in and problem solved. You can do a search and there are other puke cans that you can use.

Ill make sure not to lug it. Dont think i have been. Tried running it about half a quart low. Still pukes some. Im thinking a dual breather kit and forward facing air filter will help.

My two cents

Your year of bike is notorious for this because the oil tank is higher than the engine case. When your bike sits for extended periods of time (can be a couple weeks), the oil will slowly run from the oil tank to the engine case. This causes people to overfill their oil (because the oil tank will show "add" when oil has run to the case). Also, when oil runs to the case it causes an overfill situation in the case which in-itself will cause some "pukeage." One easy way to prevent "Pukeage" is to simply start your bike frequently to keep the reserve oil in the oil tank instead of the engine case.

Do like i do put a panty liner on the inside bottom of the teardrop cover and change it every oil change or when it starts to drip.
Don't use a tampon. You might get toxic shock syndrome. LOL
It works great.

Well upon closer inspection...there is another leak comin from under the rear head. Gasket maybe? New territory for me.

Actually called the rocker box i guess...oil coming from under it at the middle. How hard is this to do on the rear? Guess why there was so much oil.
