Well, my intuition tells me I am about to come to the end of an era. I think my 3.8L v6 may be on its last legs (albeit with no signs of distress except age). I am approaching 300,000 miles on the ol' girl and have been researching the Gladiator Eco-Deisel as a replacement. But, y'know riding a 23 year old Vintage on its second motor, a 40 year old Toyota pickup on its first engine rebuild and a 50 year old VW bus kinda revolts against a new Jeep In the barn. Finding myself looking into a new crate 3.8 motor and giving the rest of the drivetrain some tlc just because that's how I roll. I already rebuilt the tranny at 240k miles (about 100k past its life expectancy). Finding myself nostalgic about the pure durability of my ol' girl and thinking I would rather get another ten years out of her even if every light on the dash flashes and the heater don't work (that's why I live in AZ, lol) and the auto lock feature on my doors quit a year ago.
