Well, I had the bike towed to Big Dog of Tampa. They replaced the cam sensor and did the warrenty repair, de-electric grease in the origional EHC. Bike was running great for a while now I went to start it the other day and the headlight fadded out and then would not start??? WTF????? I have a brand new battery and I left it off the trickle charger for just 5 hours and it was dead... think the headlight is the problem!!

Yes, MoB I do, But I remembererd this post.. Well, The headlight is apart and looks to be fine and all the connections. Turned to key on and the power light on the EHC and the Low Beam light was on. Tried to start it and the red light didnt blink on the ignition control module, so I new it wouldnt fire. No spark.. Plugged the light back in and it came on and slowly fadded out?!?!?!?!?!? WTF!?!?!? I dont think it is the start/ stop switch because when I hit off and try to start its doesnt do anything. What could it be?? What is draining the battery if its not on a trickle charger?????

Absolutely agrees with the Mobsta. I got the new switch and the Wire plus package with everything I needed,( did get the deutsch crimpers separately), for cheaper than our local dealer was going to charge for just the Wire plus.

Electronic Harness Controller (EHC)

The battery if GOOD and disconnected from the bike should have at least 12.8 volts fully charged off the charger for an hour. If the battery checks for less (11.8v - 12.0v) then it could be going bad.

You say the EHC smoked when you tried to jump the battery. Guess what! Wire Plus it.

I just bought a extra ehc.. untill winter then I'm gona make a change to eather wires plus or the new unit from bdm,, just sepends on what the 1 from bdm looks like.. then I'll have 3 ehc units to sell,, 1 silver & 2 gold,, but as of now thay all work.. I try to plan ahead..

I have an 04 chop and it ran fine with no issue up until about 3 months ago, all the same shit you're describing, kinda makes you feel like you're going nuts with all this unexplained weird shit going on, especially when it just dies at 70 or so, that's always a treat! Eventually it just died one day on the road and wouldn't restart. Ditched the EHC, got a hold of Jake to get everything I needed and put the 6K HID light in while I was at it. After I was done the bike started the first time, done deal, no issues what so ever since the install and you can do this yourslef :2thumbs:
