So...
I bought a dual runner with diamond cut spikes. Thought it would look weird if that was they only thing diamond cut. Felt a little sporty (and dumb), and took the top end apart to get the cylinders and heads diamond cut. Figured since they were off, I might as well powder coat them first and deck the cylinders. If I was going to do that, I'd have to go ahead and change out the cam. And no was a good of time as any to switch the exhaust.

Attached or some pics. Had a few snags, but want to throw out a big THANK YOU for the folks that take the time to post "how to" for idiots like me.

cheers!

Looking good Chad, I really like your upgrades! I have my bike in about 100 pieces waiting for my Baker Belt Drive to arrive and for my transmission to come back from Andrew for a bearing upgrade. Its pouring the rain outside now and I can't wait to get back on the road.

Yes, but the difference is Steve, unlike you, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing! I actually bookmarked your cam change post and had my laptop in the garage when I changed it. Like I said, guys like you make it possible for guys like me to do this stuff. Thanks!

Looks great, do you mind me asking what it cost to get the heads cut, assuming you removed and reinstalled? I had a VROD with diamond cut heads...loved the look, they clissen in the sunlight.

Looks awesome. Thats the first time Ive ever noticed those "cones" over the top of the filters. I may have seen it before but not noticed it. Did you buy those to go over the filters or is that a completely different setup?

Rick,
I think if you are just cutting the heads, it will run you about $150. Unfortunately, the machine shop here had to put in a lot more time to clean the overspray from the powder coat.

It's the same set-up, just added the cones to it.. You can get different cones/spikes at D&M custom cycle or debrix.com

Damn things are pricey though.....
