I debated over makes of pipes for a while now, but said hell with it and bought one of the few Biker Dreams had left of the v&h BR 2-2 . They may be common but from all the pics I've seen they just look like they belong on there. Should be here tomorrow, can't wait.
Anyone have any exhaust gaskets??, ill buy them.

Also have the mean mothers for sale now, don't know what there worth.

you can pick the exhaust gaskets up in a pack of 20 off e-bay...pretty cheap...i use 2 in each exhaust and works great...

Chad....just run to a nearby Harley shop and get the old style flat gasket that looks kinda like it is made of a wire mesh or Brillo pad. Use 2 per pipe and you'll have a no leak fit and reduce the possibility of decel pop. Enjoy the pipes. If they prove to be a little too tingy or hollow sounding...some of us have added the Thunder Monster baffles.

Got the flat ones, two per pipe, ill try it.

The bike shop called these "high flow gaskets" said there used in drag bikes.

The pipes will sound better if you take the baffles out and cut them down to 5 inches. Did it to mine and sounds much better.

May want to try cutting up some old baffles to check the sound of shorter baffles vs stock V&H before you start sawing on the new ones right out of the box. Just a thought...as duct tape ain't gonna stick 'em back together. Good luck!

Totaly clueless on these so called "baffles" . Is that the consensus , cut'em instead of running them stock?

You may want to install the exhaust and run it to see what it sounds like. A quick search here should give instructions and hints for removing and cutting down the baffles.

Just checked out thunder's site, they have a new baffle called generation II, you know of anyone running these? ?

Im ordering a set tomorrow, ill talk to them and see which one works best with our engines, curious to see if there's any difference.

I've read all the threads, to many people not happy with the v&h factory baffles so im gonna go thunder city right outa the gate before its ever installed.

Most guys who cut the V&H baffles cut them to 5"......basically in half. Just make sure you install the end with the bolt (obvious but you never know). They sound nice without the baffle also. Try it stock and without the baffle before you cut it if you're unsure.

No worries on which end to reinstall, I think im going
to 4.75 inches on tha baffle, one things for sure there not gonna sound worse after there cut !

Thanks.

If you know someone that welds I would have them throw a couple tac welds cause the bolts do fail and you don't wanna lose your baffle
