F-Okie - Very cool. You may want to consider spending just a couple of bucks on bdm # 240-000252-00 as insurance to protect them. Both my side covers cracked and had to be replaced. Thanks to Nelson and his Service Bulletin links, I found these and ordered them as insurance from cracking again. It's service bulletin 1087.

Very Nice :flag:

I also have something I would like to have put on my side covers but they have been replaced 4 or 5 times due to cracking. I'm going to see how these new ones hold up.

Thanks bro---Those were put on several months back. My right side cover broke when it was only a few months old. Since the bracket were put on---no more problems:cheers:

I commend you sir...Excellent idea. If you are in DC for Rolling Thunder i will want to shake your hand and drink a couple of beers with you. I am quite sure that the rest of the group here will want to do the same.

Love the covers, f-okie. Being a veteran from the Vietnam generation, that really strikes a cord with me.

Did you have the tank painted that way from BDM?? It seems like I might have seen it during one of my trips to the factory. What year and month would that have been?

Thanks everyone---I did the bike last July 06 when I got it. I've been trying to find something I wanted for the covers. It just took me a while. I bought the bike plain black and then I did the skins. The rest is by my pin striper. Can you believe he only gets $100 to do a motorcycle???? Best money I ever spent.
Lord willing, I'll be at Rolling Thunder next year, and hope to see you all.
