Any suggestions what I should be looking for? What should be avoided? I am thinking 2006 and up. Finding a few but nothing I like close enough to travel over 4 hours to look at. I am in PA.

So there is more then one Big Dog K9 model?
There's a K9 250 which came out in 2011, I think. Anyway, there are two versions of the K9 but I doubt you will run across many 250's.

ANd the 250 is the size of the rear tire, down from the normal 300mm rear tire found on the majority of K9's.

The 250 also has a 111 c.i. engine vs. the original K9 with the 300mm tire which has a 117 c.i. engine.

'06 was the first year of the K9 and most of them had TP rocker boxes. would be best to go with '07 and up with S&S rocker boxes to match the motor. from there, most will be similar except for the choice of carb or EFI. if you go with a solid color that you like, you can get together with "airbrushEd" (ex-factory grade 8 painter and member here) and he can do whatever kinda theme you want, for a price.

What is the difference in the rocker boxes?
