NEW Custom BAKER Transmissions

I just took delivery of 2 Custom BAKER Transmissions for the new bikes I'm building to take top Daytona and Myrtle Beach & Sturgis...oh Laconia too
the pics that follow are of them:
Drive Brake RSD 6 Speed -All Chromed T6T BILLET Designed & Shaved ,The 8" Rotor is attached to the Transmission Drive Sprocket(23 teeth) and the outer bearing support is a 2 Piston Caliperthat completely Covers the Rotor which is hard anodised and super strong(Performance Machine Components on/in the caliper & innards:D)
I have THE ONLY one made with a sprocket instead of pulley-although BAKER does make the standard with the pulley for a belt rear drive.
My Engines are too *BIG* in Cubic Inches-Torque & Horsepower to handle a rear belt driven wheel (The smallest motor i'm running is an S&S 131 C.I. that we dyno'ed at 163 H.P. and 151 lbs. of Torque).

The Second transmission is a BAKER *Torquebox* with the N1 Shift pattern:
Neutral is all the way Down (where 1st is on our big Dogs)-and 1st thru 6th are ALL UP-NO Missed shifts or false neutrals while *Rippin & Strippin* and Gettin on It!
Patterned after the GMC blower Design = the *Torquebox* is a Function Formed ALL T6T Billet casing cut from a block of billet and can handle Up To 250 Ft Lbs of Torque which is designed for the biggest Motors and hard applications.
I'm an Authorised BAKER Drivetrain Dealer , and I Stock ALL BAKER Products,Parts and other necessitys they make(Tools, seals etc....) and ANYONE from this Forum who needs Transmissions, Components , parts, service or questions answered regarding their BDM Transmissions are encouraged to call me and I'd be More Than Happy to help you out and give THE Lowest prices with FREE Shipping in the USA and answer any & all inquiries. You DONT have to buy a thing from me to answer your quesations or give technical advice on THE FINEST Transmissions & Drivetrains Made-right here in the USA:D

Here are MORE Shots of the BAKER Drive Bake RSD 6 Speed Transmission and also BOTH The torquebox & Drive Brake are Hydraulic Clutch Actuation with Outboard Bearing Supports that brace & strengthen the clutch spider accuation unit. They are *BULLETPROOF* and if anyone has questions for wanting one to install and modify theses to fit ANY Big-Dog....My bikes will be the *Crash Test Dummies* so My Customers wont suffer any mechanical failures or issues on Installs or Applications. But in all honesty...there WONT be any issues except enough road surface to slow down on before getting a speeding ticket .

Very nice units......Will the drive brake work on a Ridgeback with a 330 rear tire?
The BAKER Drive Brake will work on ANY BIG DOG....but heres the skinny:
you'd have to change out your primary(Which is the Awesome BAKER DSSC-Drop Starter Slam Clutch) and switch to a BAKER Primary that houses the starter up on the "Hump" that isnt there with the DSSC-because the Drive Brake was not designed or Engineered to fit the DSSC lower starter housing and inner primary housing that is the DSSC - which is SO Cool and Reliable on it's own!.It pains me to sday it-but I wont lead Anyone into the unknown with wrong information-especially on such a great BDM Bike or BAKER Transmission installation or retro-fit/custom build or upgrade.
Yeah thats a Bummer fer sure....
I use the BAKER FFP-FUNCTION FORMED PRIMARY on my builds and am in the process of retro-fitting that primary(with NO Compensator on the crank Drive Sprocket because of the 155 C.I. S&S Motor i'm running) to accept the Drive Brake on My Pitbull in my gallery & garage photo's. I'll post photo's of the build and progress- and You are All Welcome to write me,reply and call with questions that I'd be More than Happy to answer for you dudes.

The Big Dogs ALL have the DSSC from 2006 on upwards am I correct...?Or is it Earlier...?(Maybe 2005 on upwards) and the Drive Brake and Other BAKER Transmissions will fit the earlier models without the DSSC Unit (Which I LOVE )
Any input is well appreciated and accepted with a smile.Thank You for reading the post.Gimme your opinions, feedback, views and responses-as It's All Good to hear from Y'all-Thanx Again People.

Perhaps I can take my scoot out for New Years.....
Look forward to seeing your builds....
I also am looking to build a big cubic inch scooter in the near future.

Neil, what is the advantage of the Torquebox over the tranny that came with your bike and is it a direct replacement or do you have to mod your bike

Sorry for the confusion....
What is being delivered tomorrow or today I should say is my reworked DSSC transmission to see if it can hold up to the torque and power my Bulldog is making now. I am in the 130's HP and mid 140's TQ. Been through 4 transmissions, one built by BDM and the 3rd time by Baker now in a little over 3 years. They upgrade some things the last time and now have a few other improvements.

I am looking at a Torque box for my big cubic inch build....
The Torque Box is a serious transmission for ultimate builds in power and torque. The DSSC does not even compare with it. VW to Viper difference.

As said by Baker below:
To that end, Baker recently introduced their Torque Box,
re-engineered to withstand high torque, large capacity
motors, and their five-speed left and right hand drive boxes
have now been joined by six speed versions of the same.
Externally identical to the 5-speeds, they have a different drum as
well as the additional pair of gears, and the unusual shift pattern of
N-1-2-3-4-5-6 to help avoid false neutrals.
The major change in the transmission is an increase from 2.5 inches to
3-inch centres between the gearbox shafts, providing the space for bigger
gears, and a potential torque-handling capacity of 250ftlbs of torque, and
an increase in the diameter of the selector drum makes precision far easier, wit
improvements to the bearing/spindle interface.

N1 shift pattern is bad ass!

I am going to have to swap transmissions on the chopper just to get that!
The N1 Shift Drum Option/ pattern is also a feature you can order on the BAKER Drivebrake(picture at the bottom of this reply) I have that option in my Drivebrake as well .
Also the TorqueBox & Drivebrake can be ordered with the standard Ratio or the *R*Ration Gears(*R* is reccomended for big inch motor applications above 124"-Mine are all *R* Ratio.
BOTH TorqueBox & Drivebrake have a 6061-T6 billet clutch actuator spider with a 1.5"piston (Hydraulic clutch ONLY)so a master cylinder with an 11/16" bore is Required.

The Torquebox will fit your BD Chopper (or any chopper for that fact) but you'll have to ditch the Beautiful DSSC primary and go to a standard location starter/primary enclosure & a hydraulic clutch resevoir & system.

And the standard RSD 6 Speed BAKER that BDM installs in the factory bikes *CAN* handle H.P. numbers in excess of 125. Just change the mainshaft/drive gear seal (part #12067B) Install a BAKER Rockwell hardened Spacer
(part#33344-94S) and a #031 Buna O-Ring ,Quad Seal (part#11165A) onto the trap door (I recommend going to a 530 EK XX O-Ring Chain ) as the 117 S&S is capable of shredding the rear drive belt easily-alot easier than most people think.
The part numbers I gave above are BAKER as well as H-D(same numbers) for the transmission
O-Ring and Mainshaft seal (also the spacer) Buy BUY a BAKER Spacer as it's a rockwell hardened unit and can withstand much more heat and friction/torque & stress.Any tech thats been IN any Transmission as often as myself will tell you that the stock h-d spacer is way too soft & mushy for the torque scenarios in an S&S motor-and it's a $20.00 part so it's cheap insurance.
Any other advice or technical info you need regarding BAKER-call them at
1-877-640-2004 or me here at the shop-I'm a BAKER Drivetrain Dealer and I'd be happy to give you (or any Forum Member here )The Lowest Price on ANY New BAKER Product.

On your AIH Texas chopper all you'd have to do is remove the old tranny & install the BAKER -but you'll also need to switch to a hydraulic clutch & resevoir.Your original primary(and clutch and components) will accept the BAKER Torquebox right outta the box.
But it's a chain rear drive only-no belt because it's designed to handle Tremendous Torque & HP.
And the N1 shift pattern Is badass-no more missed shifts or false neutrals:D

I got the N1 in my HD SG.

Bad thing is going into neutral coming to a stop. If you are going faster than 20mph and get neutral you have to slow below 20 to engage any gears or it will clunk LOUD!

Complete OD6.

It replaced the SE 6 speed I had in there. Since you had to cut the case for the SE6, I got the whole transmission and the baker +1 oil pan.
