Well boys and girls getting tired of the whole Big Dog scene. I have a 2006 K9 with a bitching 117. Was taken apart new, ported polished heads, 600 lift cam, G, carb, programmable ign and a few other goodies. Getting tired of all the electrical bullshit problems and quite frankly I think I have tired of the 300 tire handling. I'm thinking about taking that bitchin motor and trans and using it as a platform to build a real handling chopper. Re wire the whole thing with basic Harley electrics , shorten the front end a tad AND here is what I was wondering. Has anyone on this site converted one to a smaller rear wheel , say a 200? Something that would really handle still be a milder chopper with a hot rod motor. I would like to use the stock Big Dog frame and just change the rear section so I could keep it titled a Big dog and not get nailed with that homemade motorcycle tag. So what is the opinion here! Am I flucking crazy or what?

RETIRED
or just buy yourself a "harley rocker" other than the fucked up seat, it's about what you are describing.

If you start modifying your present bike that way it will destroy the value of it. I was thinking about putting a wider tire on my Prosport until I realized what was involved. To narrow up your K9 would be almost impossible to do and make it look right. Sell it and look for an older chopper with the narrower tire, they are good strong bikes to start with. Good luck with what ever you decide.

I like the way the k9 handles. We ride a lot of backroads here and no problems with handling. Before I would cut up a good chopper I would by something else and put a 124 in it. I think it would be cheaper
