'Melting' caused by exposed wires shorting out?

Yeah that was a common issue with bid dog ,make sure your plug is upgraded so it doesn't overheat and all the wires are connected and shrinkwrapped properly,that was one the reason why in the middle of riding the bike would shut off,even in the middle of the night.the plug would start melting,creating a short sending a signal to the EHC causing the bike to shut down.
