Nevada riders DOT Helmet question

I am heading down to Laughling for the River Run. I am planning on dropping the trailer in mesquite and rideing from there. Do I need to worry about a DOT helmet, or can I can get away with my non DOT helmet???
I was thinking about putting a DOT sticker on, but is it even worth it?
Also, does anyone have one I can buy and get it sent to me quickly? I am leaving next Wed. or Thurs.

You'll be fine everywhere but possibly Laughlin without a DOT. I just wear a DOT. I figure if I'm going to wear one it may as well do me some good.

I have been to laughlin river run lots of times over the years and always had a non DOT helmet, no problems at all.

I have talked to a couple guys today that told me the same thing, so I won't worry about getting the DOT helmet.

Hope the weather holds for ya. Looks like shit north of mesquite for the weekend so I may be screwed.

If you get stopped for speeding, that may give them an excuse to check your helmet but other than that don't worry about it, they do have a cop or two on the road from searchlight.

I just checked the weather, not as warm as I was hoping but, I am trailering down to mesquite, and doesn't look to bad from there South. I will keep watching the weather and see what happens.

We were just talking about trailering to mesquite from SLC if the weather looks bad. I need a long ride.
