Today my "N" neutral green light did stop working.... it does not come on anymore

Everything else no change... everything works fine except for the speedometer... when I really go hard the neddle goes to 0 and stays there (this has done it since day 1)

Suggestions, please?

!st check the plug, then check the switch shifting from neutral to any gear and check for open circuit in switch closed in opposite position. Last check for continuity in wires back to source.

There's a male connector on top of your tranny for the neutral safety switch. Female connector slips on, tits not very tight so it might be loose or off the male connector

How about if the neutral light stays on all the time. Gets a bit dim when in gear but stays on kinda flickering. When in neutral it is bright like always. Bike runs fine

Glad you got it fixed, good info and good people on this forum.:2thumbs:

Now to be a Smarta$$, I would hope that your "N" neutral is off when you go hard, cause I'm having visions of you sitting on the bike in your garage:moped: and reving the piss out it, and listening to "Born to be Wild"

Sounds like the switch is bad or just not engaging all the way?

get out your multimeter, take the wire off the neutral sending unit on the transmission, check continuity from connector on sending unit to ground (or just the transmission case). with transmission in neutral it should read dead short (zero resistance), in gear it should read completely open (infinite resistance). If you got any resistance when its in gear, replace the sensor.
