The dynatek coil stopped working on my bike and replaced it with a new one. After 1 week, it failed again. According to the tech, everything is fine up until the coil, which is not creating the spark. I just ordered another one but wold like one of you expert's advice on what could be the cause of this. It all started when I had to change the ignition control module for the wire plus about 1 month ago. After that, my tach is not sending the signal so that that bike starts with the regular run button so the tech had to create a separate RUN button by the seat. This bike is nothing but problems now but love riding it when she is working properly. Any advice is appreciated.

Try sending a private message to Raywood, Nukeranger, Moespeed. They and others, I cant think of their names right now, are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Also, as you wander through various posts, look at how much Rep Power they have and also number of posts. Its not much but I hope this helps some. Good luck.

What model number Wire Plus do you have? I have the WP-374 and you should also. The Run/Off hand control turns the ignition control module on and off. Either button should toggle the ignition control module. At least this is the way my 2008 Ridgeback is wired. What kind of separate run button (maintain or toggle) switch was installed and how long has wire plus been installed and working previously on your bike.

On my install of Wire Plus, all I have to do is turn the key switch on and then press the Start pushbutton. Pressing the Run or Off pushbutton will then turn the bike off. You can depress the Run or Off pushbutton and see the ignition module lights change state (lights up and goes out). The green light on the Wire Plus module stays on as long as your key switch is on.

I must say I am not familiar with the 2004 install so there may be a difference and there should be a few members on here that can provide you the differences in how this system works.

2004 is wired different but the only difference I see on the wiring diagram is one wire is used for 2005+ from previous EHC location Red A-19 and two wires are used for 2004 Red 13 and 14.

You should have only needed to replace the ignition key switch not the entire module for the wp install and the run button on your handle bars should have worked with the wire plus. I would check the wiring setup especially at the ignition module.
