Need Help With an Electrical Problem

I was riding last night and my bike completly shut down.

I turned the key off and back on and only the right side of my bike would light up (front and rear turn signals).

I pulled the seat and started messing with the wires and every thing lit up again, I found the wires/bundle of wires that had the issue. (see attached picture)

Does anyone have a clue what the problem might be or what these wires do?

Thanks

Luke

FREEDOM!!!
Sorry Luke, picture didn't post. Start with getting yourself an electrical schematic of your bike. It will make troubleshooting much much easier.:2thumbs:

Looks like your EHC module harness. (Electronic Harness Controller)

Barring any EHC problems-

You will need to disconnect the battery+ and then disconnect the EHC harness connection and look at the connection pins for any corrosion. Clean the connectors and apply new dielectric grease between the connectors when you reinstall them on the EHC.

Try some Radio Shack spray contact cleaner and lube (cover all painted surfaces) to clean out the EHC connections and install the dielectric grease into the cleaned connectors.

Also make sure the smaller wire crimps at the battery terminals are all crimped tight. Mine worked loose and would cause the bike to die due to LOW current to run the EHC. Just repcrimp them.
