have my bike on the lift just checking bolts and when I turn the back wheel i can actually hear the bearings roll inside the housing. It sounds like just one of the bearings is missing and the others are rolling into is place..when I turn the wheel real slow it like you can hear the bearing drop down..if that makes sense. I have never heard it before and is this noise normal?

I wouldn't say it is normal to hear the bearings like that. The ones BDM use are cheap but they have a plastic retaining cap on them and the bearing itself should be grease filled to a predetermined amount so you should not hear the bearings roll around. How many miles are on the bike? At 10K they recommend you change the bearings out. A lot of us upgrade the bearings when we do it but if you change them out regularly the cheaper ones will do. They are pressed into the hubs and not a big deal to change out.

It is an 07 K9 and I have 24,000 miles on it. I have changed them at the 12,000 miles and I am due to change them again. It sounds like I will just go ahead and change them since I am going on a trip in a few weeks. Does anyone have a part number to the upgraded bearings for an 07 K9 and where to get them?

When I got my V in April 05, it didnt take long for me to start hearing my rear bearings. I had Tampa BDM check it and it was determined to be the pins in the brake disc. The disc and holder are steel, the pins are aluminum. They wear faster and are fricken expensive to replace. Lift yr bike and roll the back wheel. Pinch the disc or press it slightly to one side and see if the noise stops. Compare the freeplay to the front disc too. I had a new rear disc installed via warranty and the sound is gone. Never replaced a bearing on my Lady yet.

also, your first post on this thread - presumably your bearings are pressed into the hub and are a sealed unit - are the symptoms / sounds you describe even possible with a sealed bearing?
