It is cranking over. It seems like it is flooded. Is there something I can do for a flooded engine to help get it started? We can smell gas real bad when we crank it over.

We get a stron odor of gas when we crank it over. I will try new plugs in the morning. Would that cause the strong smell of fuel when we try and start it?

Put a fresh pair of plugs in it and don't use the enrichener when starting it. Seems your flooding it out.

And make sure the battery is on a tender so to have a fresh charge.

Would do a spark check, preferably with an inline neon tester from the parts store since you have a heavy smell of fuel. See if you are getting spark and if not, go back and check all the wires and make sure you didn't knock something loose.

Should be no reasons that changing oil would cause it not to start other than knocking a wire loose somewhere, possible a coil wire, something small that may not be so noticable at first. Also look for any circuit breaker or fuses that may be hidden that could kill the ignition circuit.

Best to backtrack to the steps you did when change the oil and start in those area of where you all may have knocked something loose.

Good luck and let us know how you make out

just checking, did you put the crank sensor back in place after putting the filter back on if you had to remove it to begin with?

Good idea Narrow.

Make sure there is a red light that comes on with your EHC when you push your "run" button.

Also, try to test the spark plug in the wire on the head. See if its sparking.

If not, check to see if you're getting power at your coil

Does your bike even have an EHC with diagonstic LED? Also be very careful if you do a open spark test, especially if you had heavy fuel smell before. No need get an ignition that you didn't plan!!!!

Check that crank sensor as mentioned above for that may indeed be the culprit since you had to move a filter around it.

Good luck

Yes... be carefull if you smell gas...can use a seperate spark plug and leave the other one in the motor.

Ok we tried everything on this Tejas. Got Dyno Mike here in KC going to pick it up Monday morning. Will let you all know what he found out.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I have my buddy talked into just buying a big dog and get rid of his Tejas... I will take him to the nearest pound this week to see which one he wants to adopt!!!
