I need some close up shots of the kickstand assy. on the 04 pitbulls. Im going to convert my 03 kickstand to one like on the 04s and newer and was trying to get an idea how this was going to work. My buddy has a 04 ridgeback and it looks pretty cut and dry to do. Give me pics of any 04 or 05 big dog kickstand assy so I can get an idea. Ive already been in contact with Nelson on the parts and they arent very expensive. Im tired of almost ripping off my kickstand on left turns!!!!! Thanks....David

Ever think of going the the hidden spring type? I think Gas has it, looks cool. I will do that when I get to it, looks much better.

I had the newer rear mounted kickstand installed on my 03 also. Drill and tap two holes and you're done. Will see if I can find a pic of it and post it here.

The proble is he has a Pitbull which doesn't have the rear section to attach the kickstand to. He need to fab something like the 04 RB or Pitbull that attaches onto where the rear passenger bracket mounts to the frame. When you get it done let me know how it came out. I've been contemplating the idea for sometime know but just don't have the time.

I think you might be able to buy the 04 assmbly from BDM and just bolt it on.

I got the kickstand coming. BD has the bracket your talking about for 88.00 through nelson. I found the kickstand on ebay for 40.00 i got it coming. Im either gonna buy the bracket or tig weld a piece of metal onto the frame and bolt the kickstand to that. Was a little nervous about tiggin on the frame. What do you think????

Raywood, I have an 03' chopper and was thinking of putting a rear mounted kickstand on it as well. How do you know how high to drill the holes in the frame and did you have to remove the swing arm, or just drill 'em, tap 'em and you're done.

I had the shop do it but I believe they just measured an 04 and drilled and tapped it. No need to remove anything. If you go ahead and do it I'm sure plenty of members here will give you some measurements.

Good Luck,
Ray

The Ridgeback and Pitbull are the same rear frame section, in 2004 anyway. Your 2003 maybe a bit different, maybe not.

I think that bracket bolts right onto the frame where the passenger peg bracket goes. i haven't seen that setup in awhile, but next time I see my buddies RB I'll get a better look.

Man Ive got Nelson looking, Ive called BD and some dealers and were all havin a hell of a time finding the part number for the inner bracket that the kickstand mounts to. Anyone out there have any other ideas or ways to get the part number???

I wish I had more money.
BDM13000354 I think this is the part #. The thing is that this is the kickstand # and the bracket comes with it.

bdm130-00354 is the kickstand assy but that does not include the inner bracket. Big Dog said the part number for the inner bracket is 130-00524 can anyone verify this???

That is the part number that you were looking for actually. But with that being said, you are going to have to have a tab welded onto your frame for that to attatch to. My guy said that if you hae a comp. shop in your area it isn't that big of a deal. So if you have any other qeustions about it feel free. If you need to hear it from the horse I would shoot you his number as well. This guy knows his stuff prety well so you know anyway.
