My brake control is buzzing?

Have a question for ya all.
Im riding down the road. I touch the front brake and can hear a buzzing noise. Its speed related too. The faster I go, the higher the pitch of it. I slow down, it dulls down until about 3-5mph it dissappears.
Horn has stopped and now the front right indicator (turn signal) doesnt flash.

From all the reading Ive done so far, Im pointing towards the hand control electrics and water. I havent ridin in the rain in a while, but have hand washed it a cpl times. I try to go go sparingly on anything above the tank. But thinking water may have gotten in.

Anyone have any thoughts?

It it an electronic sounding buzz? I know my rotors & pads make a buzzing noise when applied on both of my street bikes.

It's more than likely the cross drilled holes in the front brake rotor sliding past the brake pads.

Cheers for the link Nuke. Thats interesting. It came on all of a sudden. It had never done that before, then one day riding, on the way home I heard it. I though I had a short in the hand controls. Im OCD when it comes to rattles, buzzes and not normal noises on my vehicles. This is going to bug the hell out of me. I wonder if pulling the brakes off and cleaning/replacing the pads will make a difference. I bloody hope so.

Try re-torque on the caliper mounting bolts. Mine would make noise and I found a bolt loose. Re-torqued to 16 to 19 ft/lbs with some blue 242 locktite. Good ever since.

Dean, welcome to my hell, mine started the same thing when I put new pads on recently, like you, every little unfamiliar noise drives me crazy.

Mine has always made the buzzing sound. Its the cross drilled holes in the disc. As far as the horn and blinker....could be water related.

I'm with Mickeetwo and Bigdogbro1 as far as the buzz. That doesn't explain the suddenness though.

Yea thats what got me. One moment all is good, then the next, the buzzing noise. Ill try have a play with all the mounting hardware and see what I can do. Bugs the hell out of me.

Ill pull apart the hand control and give them a clean out. Is there a thread anywhere on good ways to water proof/resistant those controls? (Ive tried looking but couldnt find anything specific to hand controls).

I've ridden two brand new Harley's that both made that sound. If you want to make sure that it is the brakes pull the caliper and give it a go. That would surely narrow it down.

Yup, did some slow rides around the block and put my head down low on the bike. Sure as shit, its the front brakes making the noise.

I wonder why it came on all of a sudden? Ive done 2000 miles on it with no brake buzz. Now Ill just have to get used to it I guess. Maybe I can strip the brakes down and give them a good clean/service and see what happens.

Thanks all.

I changed out my original pads and put some Lyndall pads from a group buy some time ago and haven't noticed the noise anymore. I'm not sure if anyone else has the noise after changing their pads. The noise is common from what I've heard, if you cant stand it maybe change out your pads. Just a thought... I don't think anything is wrong. I changed to the Lyndalls because of less brake dust is all ...

I have a spare set of pads, factory ones. But if the Lyndalls are good and no brake dust, then that might be the go. Was going to service front and rear in the near future anyway.

Where can one get these from?

Put Z-Pads in them. They will quiet them down
