I've had my bike since May and have had 3000 miles of relatively trouble free riding - tranny seal that Andrew talked me through was the only issue so far.
I'm not really having a problem and typically believe in not fixing it if it isn't broken. However yesterday I noticed a strange thing. I was in the garage and the bike was making a clicking and whistling sound. It seemed to be coming from just above the air cleaner - bike is an EFI. The whistling sound sounded very similar to the sound made when I hit the run button and the fuel pump cycles. It made this sound over and over for 5 minutes or so while I was in the garage.
It should be noted that I hear these sounds every time I wash the bike. I had always thought there was some seal that was that was making the high pitched sound - maybe the compression releases. I did wash the bike in the morning, but this was 12 hours later.
I listened very closely and discover it sounded like the whistling was coming from the area near where one of the fuel lines goes to the throttle body.
Not really a problem, but I'm just wondering whats going on. It's quite normal for me to go out to the garage and talk to my bikes while they're not being ridden, but this is the first time one has responded!
