MUTT TANK REJECT !!!!!

:bang: I have a Mutt and have been talking to Brian at BDM Factory and after 3 attempts getting my tank fixed they are finally going to stand behind the paint. It looks like on the final skim coat they didnt sand it all the way . It almost looks like a roll of dimes layed all the way down the tank right in the center.
They have gave me alot of shit about fixing the problem . They finally gave in . Its spring and now they are telling me 6 weeks. Matt at Iron Lightning took the pictures the first time and they rejected the claim . The second time I called the factory and they told me too bad .
Now I have Brian looking for me a 08 Pittbull and for some reason if Im gonna buy it they will fix my tank . ( What Bullshit ).
I might have Airbrush Ed Fix the swirles and do some paint work for me and not even bother with BDM .

Hahahahaha... they probably laid-off the guys in the body shop too! Hell yeah I'll fix it, and make it look bad-ass to boot. Or if you get that new bike, order it a solid color, and let me add the artwork. I can make it look better than Bigdog, quicker than Bigdog, and probably cheaper than Bigdog! It's a no-brainer.

Make sure you check by your struts too. 2 of us on here have had the problem. My tank looks like it has waves in it, but I didnt notice it til my warranty was up. It wasnt too noticable so I am going to wait til I repaint. In my opinion they are lacking in the paint department.

It's funny you say they are lacking in the paint dept. I was talking to Dugan about his paint job, and he mentioned talking to Brian (a salesman at BDM-wichita). He got discouraged with Brian giving him the blow-off, so he said he was going to get a local guy to fix it, one that they (BDM) had let go. So Brian says to him, "Who?" Dugan replies, "Ed". "Well if you get Ed to do it, it will look better than if it were done here" Brian says. So Dugan asks, "why did you let him go then?" "Well two reasons, first he was the highest paid artist in the paint shop, and second he focused Too much on quality." I about fell over when Dugan told me that! WTF! Too much on quality, on a $30K bike???

Must be a new deal because my paint is flawless. Of course my bike is almost 3 years old now. I've looked over a bunch of dogs and owned three...always been happy with the paint jobs I've seen.

I guess there are worse things to get canned for! BTW, I left in 08. I've heard from buddies that are still there, as well as BDM dealers across the country, that things have gone to shit in the last year...

Ed, I restore and paint classic cars for a living and I do top quality paint work. You my friend are an artist! Looking at some of your designs makes me want to toss my airbush in the trash. :flag:
