Not a BD , an HD... I'll listen to members on this forum:up:

A friend just bought a Heritage Classic. Oil cooler , 96ci. The digital temp gauge reads 255F . The dealer states that it will run hot until the motor breaks in. The bike is stock...no mods on the exhaust, maps, etc.

What do yall' think about that?

yep it will run very hot.. the eps set rules for the company to meet.....if you chamge the intake breather, pipes & recalibrate the tune it will richen it up.... stock set up thay run very lean.. & yes my s/g did run coller some what afer the 1st 1K.. I cant explain that part.. but it did drop alittle... the best way is to get those stock pipes off & let it breath... pick a good tuner or set it up a a dyno...

Yup, the newer HD's will cook if you don't do something to cool em down. Damn EPA sucks.:bang:

When I read this thread "motor cooking" I thought someone was giving out recipes for cooking on top of the motor or exhaust while traveling down the road. I know some truck drivers that have done that. Exhaust temp runs between 800 and 1000 degrees.
