Thank you Lars, I use the billet polish on the wheels, and it does a great job.

It doesn't work at all, I had Joe's Roadglide here last week with a lot of corrosion on the rear wheel, Mothers didn't faze it, neither did White Diamond.

What did work was Turtle chrome polish and rust remover, that got about 85%. I followed that with Happich semi chrome and that worked for removing the pitting. I was supprised how well it turned out. I will text you a before and after.

Mother's Chrome Polish is awesome - I prefer it over "paste-type" chrome polishes in a tube.
It's safer - leaves none of those hairline scratches you often see on chrome in the sunlight as some chrome "paste" polishes will do.

Mother's Billet Aluminum Polish is also awesome on aluminum....just don't use IT on chrome!

Neither one are that expensive and both can be found at your local Wal-Mart Auto Dept.

Get a pack of 100% pure cotton cloths while you're there, too.
I highly recommend them over micro-fiber cloths, which will leave hairline scratches on chrome & billet aluminum.
I quit using micro-fiber cloths on chrome & billet aluminum a long time ago for this reason.

Hope this helps! Good luck, and have fun detailing!

Well now I have a dilemma, one of you says it works great, and the other says it doesn't work at all.:lol:

Thank you both for the input, and thank you K9Anniv for the additional info and tips.

The best polish i found for chrome is autosol metal polish. It is a paste in a tube and sold at NAPA. I've tried everything on the market and found this stuff to leave the best shine.

Never heard of it, does it leave a protective coating like wax does? Do you use it on a regular basis? Thanks.

Autosol has been around for a while, at least in Europe. I remember using that on my Bonneville in late 70's! Actually that was pretty much the only polish around then (if my memory serves me right).

I use the AMS Oil metal polish on mine and I think it is a little better than Autosol at getting the really dirty metals and chrome cleaned.

Although I am not sure they make it anymore, I bought a box of the stuff and now my dealer cannot find it in his catalog.

Paste polishes tend to crystallize over time. Those "crystals" are like rubbing tiny 'grit' across your chrome, leaving minute hairline scratches which become apparent in the sunlight.

That's why I also stay away from using quick "dusting" products like the California Dusters, etc...all they do is drag dust (ie- microscopic grit) across your finish.

Mother's Chrome Polish is liquid and, if shaken properly each time before use, leaves no hairline scratches.
I've been using it for years after a "bad" experience with paste chrome polish.
But..to each, their own..

Good luck!
