MOST MILES ON A S & S ENGINE

Just curious how many miles everyone is getting on a S & S engine without
rebuilding it...Wear only not if you break something..


So guys how many miles do you have on your Dog???

I put over 30,000 on s&s 111 with no major problems.

There are several with over 50K on their engines.

3500 miles complete rebuild,than another 3500 studs pulled out of case,blew the head gaskets,ok enough is enough,i still love my dog

Currently have just over 65,000 miles on my '05 Chopper, BUT had the engine rebuilt at around 58,000. At about the 58K mark, I was burning oil A LOT, and had oil coming out of the air cleaner area. A broken valve guide finally sent a small piece to my oil pump, causing it to seize up.

So all and all, one could say that my rebuild was required due to something breaking in the engine... namely the valve giude. However, it also needed the cylinders bored, with new pistons installed, of which would certainly fall into the category of "wear".

28,000 on my 07 K9. Just replaced the Head Gaskets.
