I am pretty mechanically inclined. I am new to the chopper and S&S world but I've been writing motorcycles around 30 years. That being said. I'm going to rebuild the carburetor on my 03 Chopper. It has a 107 cubic inch. My questions are... will a cam make a noticeable difference and if so is it hard to change one?

If you have the 107 like the guys told you in previous posts you already have the S&S 600 cam, that is unless someone changed it. The 107 was build as a package. Cam matched to bore and stroke, head specs,compression and carb.

How many miles are on you're bike? S&S does recommend the lifters be changed out at around 16,000 to 20,000 miles. Personally I would not open mine up unless it needed other work done.

It probably has the 600 cam, but there were some bikes built with the 520, which is not a very good cam. You can call S&S and give them your engine numbers, and they should be able to tell you what cam was installed at the factory.

9k miles. I'll just keep it the way it is then. Thanks for the info.
