As many of you know, I have been spending allot of time over the last few years working in the Middle East and my riding time decreased allot. That said I have had the opportunity to ride with many members here over the years and after looking at some old video, I sure hope we can do so again next year when the sun is out, the roads are clear, and the friendship is shared.

Still on of my favorite rides from the past

Personally I think you need a token yankee along for the trip. If for nothin' else, comic relief. Give us a fair warning if it sounds good. About time I shook yer hand in person.
Got an Air Force son stationed at Ft Hood (Army base, he needs a break lol), and a crazy bud in Texas that we was together planning to take a ride together next year. You're not quite in the middle of them and the north east but you never know how far a ride like that can drift sometimes... if it sounds interesting keep in touch... not like I'd be bringin' a whole gaggle of yankees, and if I say so myself we ain't (or at least I like to think we ain't) all that bad, the ones that ride I mean.
Time for a road trip- and some good whiskey wit them that can appreciate it.

Always welcome and nothing wrong with some Yankees per say since probably half of the people in this are from north of the Mason Dixon, in fact some of the most enjoyabel group rides I have had was represented by the boysfrom PA, NJ, DE, it is all good. See what 2013 can bring and would be great to ride a with many old and some new ones again.

Generally during the Rolling Thunder event at end of May, a good group get together from all over. Great event if you are looking for a reason to ride this way.

Rolling Thunder is a great ride, for sure... been there several times, I got a respected coworker who's a local legion rider officer who ropes me in all the time- and don't get me wrong it's alway a great trip to and from, and the statement made to our country is as important to me as well as everyone I figure... forgive but the whole traffic thing once we get there works my nerve though. Now please don't anybody take that the wrong way. Some things are important... I'm with you on that. i go whenever I can.

This trip here tho that we're thinkin' of would be a different type of adventure. Open road, close friends, not a lot of folks BUT- stopping in to some places and taking a few miles along the way with respected riders like yourself would be a most welcome plus.

At the risk of "going too far", lol... lately I'm thinking of doing a "one-up" on my kid and my buddy from Tejas... work with me here folks who are reading this, if you would.

I'm lookin' for the worst, nastiest, ugliest strip club between Texas and the northeast... not like a place that second ammendment solutions would likely have to be invoked, but that are relatively safe though have the oldest or ugliest or nastiest strippers working for them... I think it would be HILARIOUS to recommend stopping in there to see how my kid and my buddy handle the situation. It would be a memory that we would talk about for the rest of our days, lol. They would give me a ton of sh*t and would never know that it was intentional that I had them do that.

Maybe I should start a new thread on that one eh? I know, I know, I'm a sick dude.

That being said, and I know most here would agree- there are so many little known places in our great country that are so very worth visiting, outside of the tourist places, that I think no matter where we go or what we do it will be worth the trip. Small town America, biker friendly if at all possible, that's the idea.

Thanks Fibre...

Not sure if I could put up with more than a couple of weeks ridin' with these guys... or anybody, lmao. It should make for a good story to write about afterwards, I hope.

You sir, rock. Thanks.

OHM, i think the terms are "half a bubble off plumb", "a sandwich short of a picnic", " the elevator don't go all the way to the top". you get my thought? and i like the way you think.:cheers:

although i don't know whether or not i could keep my lunch down at some of the places you suggest.

I know exactly... thanks Butcher.
The Aussies I've met say: "A few 'roos short in the top paddock."

It ain't all that often that I get to be that way anymore.
When we come down to it though, I'll be in touch- looking for your input.

Lunch?
Where we're going, we don't NEED lunch....
