Hi guys... I placed my Mastiff 2009 in a garage in AUg 2009 stored away for the winter. Placed it on a jack, cleaned and covered. Visited the garage maybe 2 times to make sure nothing was stolen, opened fuel once for 2 minutes and closed again....etc etc. UNHEATED garage. Placed fuel stabilizer and left unti APril. Also had battery charger on all the time too. Located in NYC, temps dropped at least to 10 degrees in winter.
I also had two silica gel packets on each side of the engine and two wand heaters on the floor. Not that they made a difference in all the cold air in their.

Well time to take it out came and tire pressure dropped only to 30 psig. Pumped air pressure into tires, pumped shock air system and tried to start.First two tries, engine rolled but nothing. Applied choke and the bike started! No prioblems. SO good to hear the engine thru the vance and Hines
exhaust!

Rode that day for at least 50 miles. Only issue I had was a bit fogging of the odometer. Other than that, all was well. Even had pics taken by conctruction workers in the street. Indeed we do stand
out amongst the rest!

So this is my first bike layaway ever and had to share with the rest.
Checked the bike a week after the first ride, and the fog is gone from the odometer. Just wanted to say I am very pleased with the quality of the Mastiff.

And no, do not ask why I had it in there for so long. I had to! :flag:

Great!

Keep my 0 Ridge in a bike bubble...I highly recommend the bubble. Mine is in a unheated shed. My past bike would get condensation on it every morning in the shed ( covered also). No condensation with the fan moving air thru the bubble! 0 degree F where I am at. on tender, fuel stab. Rolled the motor , put the enrichiner on just to fire... enrichiner needed for just 2 seconds. Fired right up. Life is good.

Nice to hear the good news about the dog surviving the winter. The speedo on my 2006 K-9 fogs from time to time, really doesn't bother me. I'm not sure there is a real fix for this. Enjoy the ride...

My bike (08 Mastiff Limited Edition) could go to shit tomorrow and I that would never change my opinion on BDM. No Harley that I have ever owned has ever brought me the satisfaction and enjoyment that my dog has!!!

Mines llike that almost every year like that in Utah. It starts every spring. Is your mastiff starting a surprise to you?

Not really, but I had to share it anyway. I hear all sort of horror stories after a long winter storage. Had to place my two cents in
