Manual or Electric Compression Release?

Energy One

So I stumbled across a few Compression Release threads since my buddy has a sticky one in his 111"... It looks like our dogs have electric releases from the threads I've read but for some reason I thought I had manual release's in my 08????? I know I've manually released the compression at start up before when my battery was weak. What do we have, manual or electric releases?

Thanks Dude! Did you ever get your Dyno numbers after your 585 install? If so, what did you put out and what jets did you end up with?

I did the 585 and rejet. It pulls great. I did not however get it back on the dyno. I just read the plugs.
I have the jet sizes written down at hOme. I'll check and get back to you.

Some one correct me if I am wrong.
The compression releases are triggered Electricaly to open when you push the start button.
You can also manually push each one by pressing down on the bulb in the center of the rocker cover to release pressure.

Not sure about the electronic function but as far manual goes.. yup, just press down on the releases.

Forgive my lack of knowledge, how do you press them both down and hit the start button if u had to. I know mine are electric, and must be workin cause she starts relatively easy, but when they are manually pressed down they just spring back up (closed I'm assuming?) How the hell do they work?

There is a very small hole in the release as soon as the motor fires there is enough pressure in the cylinder to push them back closed

The electric CR solenoid has a spring return to help close when power is removed.

I'm sure the electric versions on the dogs need to be held down until the engine starts.
